CPDA President Wu Hailong Attends Signing Ceremony of “Contact Mechanism of Public Diplomacy Associations of the Yangtze River Delta”

On June 8, President of China Public Diplomacy Association Wu Hailong was invited to attend the signing ceremony of the “Contact Mechanism of Public Diplomacy Associations of the Yangtze River Delta”. Former Director of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Zhao Qizheng, former Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee Feng Guoqin, and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee and President of Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association Zhou Hanmin, etc. were also invited to present at the ceremony.

President Wu Hailong spoke positively of the work done by Public Diplomacy Associations of the Yangtze River Delta and expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of the “Contact Mechanism of Public Diplomacy Associations of the Yangtze River Delta”. President Wu pointed out that in recent years, public diplomacy activities in the Yangtze River Delta area have been carried out vigorously, which has played a significant role in facilitating the development of the nation’s public diplomacy. He believes that the newly established contact mechanism will play an active role in promoting mutual complement of public diplomacy resources of various regions and in realizing mutual benefit and win-win results for all sides, which can facilitate the nation’s overall diplomatic strategic layout and local economic and social development. CPDA will continue supporting the work of all public diplomacy associations in the Yangtze River Delta area as always, and provide necessary convenience for the effective operation of the new mechanism.

After the signing ceremony, a seminar on the topic of “Public Diplomacy under the COVID-19 Pandemic” was held, where the guests fully expressed their opinions on how to improve public diplomacy and serve the nation’s overall diplomatic strategy during and after the pandemic.
