China Public Diplomacy Association Hosts Visit of UK Northern Ireland News Media Delegation to China

From April 20 to 27, the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA) hosted a visit by a news media delegation from the Irish News of Northern Ireland, UK. The delegation visited Beijing and Xi'an, gaining a comprehensive understanding of China's remarkable achievements in modernization, the development of traditional and new media, and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.

During their stay in Beijing, the delegation visited and held discussions with China Daily, the CCTV Video News Agency, and Xinhua News Agency.



In Shaanxi, the delegation visited the China-Europe Railway Express Xi'an Assembly Center, the Research Center for Qinling Giant Panda, and Xi'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Gao Jinxiao, Deputy Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, met with the delegation to exchange views on media cooperation.



Chris Sherrard, Editor-in-Chief of the Irish News, spoke highly of China's achievements in recent years in politics, economy, culture, news media, artificial intelligence, and green development. He expressed willingness to introduce more of China's outstanding traditional culture and vibrant stories of people's livelihoods to local audiences.
