Neighborhood Public Diplomacy Symposium Held at CPDA

  Neighborhood Public Diplomacy Symposium initiated by China Public Diplomacy Association, co-organized by China Institute of International Studies and Shanghai Institutes for International Studies held at the CPDA on Apr. 1st,2014. Li Zhaoxing, President of the CPDA, Lv Fengding and Zhang Jiuhuan, Vice-President of the CPDA, Liu Jianchao, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and experts from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Institute of International Studies, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, former Ambassadors and representatives from Foreign Affairs Office in frontier provinces attended the forum which was presided by Song Ronghua, Secretary-General of the CPDA and Qu Xing, Head of China Institute of International Studies respectively.

   The participants exchanged their views about how to carry out neighborhood public diplomacy and how to deal with neighborhood hot spots in the perspective of public diplomacy.

  The President of the CPDA, Mr. Li Zhaoxing expressed in his keynote speech that, to promote neighborhood public diplomacy and achieve win-win solution on the basis of mutual benefit we should take advantage of people-to-people exchange and seek cooperation on an equal footing.

  Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Liu Jianchao pointed out that for all the achievements we have made on public diplomacy, we are still in the fledgling stage, what we should do is to build up competence, accumulate experience and carry forward our practice in the field of public diplomacy.
