On April 23, 2025, the "China-Cambodia Heart-to-Heart & New Journey on the Silk Road" Short Video Competition and the Launch Ceremony of the Cambodia Sub-Region Short Video Competition for the 7th "Belt and Road Initiative: Imprints of Hundred Countries", jointly organized by China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA) and Global Times Online, were successfully held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. Luo Linquan, Vice President of CPDA; Shan Chengbiao, General Manager of Global Times Online; and Chen Qiufeng, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Wuxi Municipal Cyberspace Affairs Office, attended the event and delivered speeches. Nearly 100 participants, including representatives from Wuxi local government, media outlets and new media platforms were present.

Vice President Luo Linquan noted that over the past six years, the "Belt and Road Initiative: Imprints of Hundred Countries" Short Video Competition has transformed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) from a policy concept into tangible and relatable life stories through vivid and heartwarming videos, presenting a true, comprehensive and three-dimensional image of China, bridging the emotional distance between China and the world. "We chose Wuxi as the starting point for this year’s competition precisely because the city has achieved fruitful results in economic cooperation and cultural exchanges with BRI partner countries like Cambodia, offering an excellent perspective to observe the BRI’s local implementation," he remarked. Luo expressed hope that this year’s competition will inspire more creative, touching, and powerful works, allowing the world to find understanding through visuals and resonance through storytelling, ultimately showcasing the shared human value of "harmony in diversity."

With the theme of "China-Cambodia Hand in Hand & Building Shared Prosperity," this competition aims to showcase the fruitful achievements of economic and trade connectivity and cultural exchange between China and Cambodia under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) through the lens of cameras. With short videos as a medium, it seeks to build a digital bridge for cross-national people-to-people bonds and elevate China-Cambodia relations to new heights.
