From August 17th to 18th, 2018, journalists from China Africa Press Center (CAPC) under the China International Press Center program participated in the High-Level Meeting on China-Africa Health Cooperation in Beijing with the theme “Deepen China-Africa Health Cooperation, and Jointly Build the Health Silk Road”.
The journalists attended the opening and closing ceremonies of the Meeting as well as its panel discussions. They witnessed the passing through of the “Outcome Document of China-Africa Health Cooperation 2018 Beijing Initiative” and remarks made by officials from relevant Chinese authorities, several Africans ministers responsible for health issues, and international representatives from organizations such as the International Health Organization. The journalists also had the opportunities to interview Chinese as well as international guests at the Meeting.
The High-Level Meeting on China-Africa Health Cooperation is a part of supporting activities for the upcoming Forum on China African Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit. About 300 representatives from China and 36 African countries participated in the Meeting.
